Music for falling leaves is a concert of improvised music, bringing together four unique performers in a program of intimate sets. It highlights improvisation as a mean of composition, and explores collaboration as a process of offering and sharing creative visions.

Misha Feigin was born and raised in Moscow and known as one of Russia’s premier guitarists. He released two albums on the state label Melodiya. Since moving to the U.S. in 1990, Misha has been featured on National Public Radio and BBC. He has toured throughout North America and Europe releasing ten CDs in America and Germany, and two in Great Britain on Leo Records. Misha shared the stage/recorded with Elliot Sharp, Dave Liebman, Eugine Chadbourne, Ken Vandermark, Peter Kowald, LaDonna Smith, Davey Williams, Ami Denio, and Serguei Letov.

He performed on many prestigious stages such as Moscow’s Concert Hall Russia, Washington’s Kennedy Center, Vancouver Jazz Festival, and Winnipeg Folk Festival. He lives in Louisville, Kentucky.

Misha won the Thomas Merton Prize for Poetry and was awarded the Al Smith Fellowship for Creative Nonfiction. His books include a novel Searching for Irina and a book of poetry, The Last Word in Astronomy, both by Fleur Publishing. Steve Beresford has been a central figure in the British improvising scene for over thirty years, working with the likes of Derek Bailey, Evan Parker, Han Bennink, Christian Marclay and Alterations; with David Toop, Terry Day and Peter Cusack. His work with Marclay has included mixed media pieces like ‘Screen Play’, ‘Ephemera’, ‘Graffiti Composition’, ‘Shuffle’, ‘Pianorama’ and ‘Everyday’. He has also written songs, scored feature films, TV shows and commercials.

Steve has worked with hundreds of people, including The Slits, Stewart Lee, Ivor Cutler, Prince Far-I, Alan Hacker, Ray Davies, Ilan Volkov, The Flying Lizards, Otomo Yoshihide, The Portsmouth Sinfonia and John Zorn.

He has an extensive discography as performer, arranger, composer and producer, and was awarded a Paul Hamlyn award for composers in 2012. http://www.efi.group.shef.ac.uk/mberes.html

Susanna Ferrar is a musician and composer who has been part of the London music scene since the 1970’s. She collaborated with Saxophonists Evan Parker and Lol Coxhill and many other musicians, including Sylvia Hallett, Maggie Nicols, Alison Blunt and Hannah Marshall. She performs as part of the London Improvisers Orchestra (LIO) and had released several Albums/CDs including A Boy Leaves Home on the Mash Productions label.

Sharon Gal is an interdisciplinary artist, performer, experimental vocalist and composer, with particular experience of free improvisation and collaborative group compositions.
Her work relates to sound, sculpture, architecture, live performance and participatory art, exploring the psychology of sound and its relationship with space.

She performs solo, and in on-going collaborations with David Toop, Steve Beresford, Phil Minton and Lina Lapelyte. She also performs and directs a series of participatory compositions, examining the inter-relations between people and place.

Sharon is a co-founder of Resonance 104.4 FM, her music was released by various labels, and she performed in the UK & internationally, including; The V&A, Science Museum, Whitechapel Gallery, Arnolfini Gallery, Tate Modern & Tate Britain.  http://www.sharon-gal.com/
