Vibha Rani, Indian folk-theatre, Gaali and Songs of Bollywood

Vibha Rani, brilliant folk-theatre practitioner from Bihar, is an expert in Gaali singing of north-east India. These are the folk songs of the local community. She is a collector and performer. The evening includes folk-theatre and literature. Vibha is a breast cancer survivor, and her performance includes extracts from her play and poetry book ‘Popcorn Breasts’. This is Vibha’s only London performance.
With support from THE BOLLYWOOD PLAYBACK DUO. Matt Armstrong and Jude Cowan Montague will perform songs of India and tunes of classic Bollywood including the great tunes of SD Burman and RD Burman as sung by Asha Bhosle, Kishore Kumar and more.
