Trials & Errors #1: ‘Eccentric Circles’

Thursday 30 January – doors 7.15pm – start 7.45pm  | £8 otd

We are launching a brand new event at IKLECTIK: Trials & Errors!

This is a night of experimental sound-art showcasing artists who are working under the the same umbrella of experimental multi-disciplinaries.

Season I 2020 will host three different mini series and the first one kicks off this month, on Thursday 30th.

The first episode is about art being eclectic and how artists with very different artistic approaches and styles can be so different and similar as well as so far and close at the same time. Like eccentric circles.

So… Trials & Errors presents Season I first episode ‘Eccentric Circles’.

Perry Frank (IT) * FIRST UK SHOW*
Perry Frank is a one-man band Ambient Music Project with Psychedelic and Post-Rock influences, a music that creates dreamy atmospheres starting from background soundscapes, drones and glitches.
He will premiere in London LACANAS, his music project about Sardinian Folk Music started in December 2018.
Lacanas’ concept is to create an original tribute to Sardinia and a mix between Ambient and traditional Folk Music.
The main ingredients are two: traditional Sardinian music and experimental ambient music with influences ranging from Fennesz to Basinski’s Disintegration Loops.
The project features four tracks, two covers of traditional songs (NO POTHO REPOSARE and PROCURADE E’ MODERARE) and two folk dances totally revisited and 400% slowed down.
Every track is dressed up in ambient soundscapes to combine dreamy background soundscapes and drones with timeless sardinian folk music. The entire project is based on tape cassette loops played by two multitrack recorders processed thru reverb and delay pedals.
Perry Frank’s Lacanas can be seen as an atmospheric landscape in which William Basinki, Daniel Lanois, Brian Eno and Christian Fennesz meet and dance with Sardinian Folk Music.

(Hidden Sounds – London) Ambient-psychedelic patterns with modular attitude.
High Pit was born in London early in 2019 from a collaboration between Amedeo Scofone (Eat the Rabbit and Do Nascimiento) and Simne Donadni (Rainbow Island,Trans Upper Egypt and visuals for Maimaimai). Their music is a mixture of electronic, psychedelia and repetition of slow somehow melodic patterns. Most of their music is played live with no sampling involved, a blend of digital and analogic machines allows them to play their live set that everytime in a different way. This first album is recorded live during a gig at Hidden Sounds record shop in London.
