ICE WIND EXHALE is an emotional state. Some of the pleasure in hearing a work comes from having a mood sustained which nevertheless continually changes. The common word for the mind’s dimension is time. We are time. For the artists sound came into being as a means of recording the very movement of reality: factual, specific, within time and unique; of reproducing again and again the moment, instant by instant, in its fluid mutability – that instant over which they find themselves able to gain mastery by imprinting it on moving image. An evening of performances featuring new sounds and improvisation along with moving images and experimental film curated by Ekaterina Bazhenova-Yamasaki. Hosted by IKLECTIK in collaboration with New Rituals, the event series exploring identity and spirituality in the post-digital age.

Ekaterina Bazhenova-Yamasaki
Ekaterina Bazhenova-Yamasaki is an interdisciplinary artist. Lives and works between London and Los Angeles. Her pivot into experimental sound happened in 2017 and in 2020 she released a debut LP. SMDSii is ice-cold noise and post-industrial. In 2021 Ekaterina produced an über-minimalistic Take1v2 single for a compilation Continuing A Worn Out Tradition II. At moment working on her current sound project which was exclusively previewed on Movement Radio.

Ana Quiroga
Ana Quiroga is a London based music composer/producer and sound designer, working across arts, film, audiovisual and interactive media. Exploring the infinite capacities of sound, her practice focuses in several fields such as film, immersive experiences, installations, video games and live performances. Ana has released music on prestigious labels such as Editions Mego and Other People. Co-founder of the duo LCC, they released two albums and an EP on Mego. She has also released music under the alias NWRMNTC. With a prolific career performing live, she has played at renowned events and festivals such as Barbican London, Berlin Atonal, Sónar Festival, and MUTEK, amongst others. This is the first live solo show under her own name, and it will be an improvised live exploration around the foundations of her next album.

Flora Yin Wong
Flora Yin Wong is a sound artist, writer and DJ from London. Her debut album was released on Modern Love in 2020 as a 2x gatefold vinyl, featuring two long-length soundpieces, and has previously released on PAN, Circadian Rhythms, Archaic Vaults, and Danse Noire. She has performed live at Atonal Berlin, Unsound Festival, Semibreve, MUTEK in Peru, Buenos Aires, and Montreal, New York’s ISSUE Project Room, Volksbühne Theatre Berlin, The V&A Museum, Somerset House, Round Chapel, King’s Place, and Cafe OTO in London, as well as Boiler Room, Berghain, and 3HD Festival. Her first book ‘Liturgy’, exploring abstract fiction and non-fiction across themes of religion, mythology, paradoxes and delusions was released in 2021 on PAN x Primary Information.

Estela Oliva
Ana Quiroga is joined by Estela Oliva (CLON) as a special guest in creating a live experimental film.
Estela Oliva’s work explores the impact of technology and the internet in human behaviour, society and our surroundings. She creates immersive hybrid environments in which the physical and the virtual blend, unfolding cutting-edge narratives and experiences.
As an artist Estela works under the pseudonym of CLON, a hybrid project exploring speculative scenarios and future worlds using technology and new media such as simulations, gaming and virtual reality.
