We present the first taster event of the Hybrid Live network music performance project. Hybrid Live is a collaboration between IKLECTIK and Goldsmiths in London, teaming up with CCRMA Stanford University and SJ Jazz in California.
JackTrip technology from CCRMA will enable high quality, low latency audio to be transmitted between sites. Jazz musicians will play duets across the network, experimenting with remote collaboration, musically accommodating delay, and doing what jazz musicians do… improvise.
Tonight’s event will be the first in a series of gigs that will increase in ambition over the course of the year. Hybrid Live is generously funded by the Arts & Humanities Research Council UK.
