FLUX GOURMET(2022)
A dysfunctional sonic collective – a band devoted to the sounds of the culinary arts – navigates rivalries internal and external in this absurdly original feast for the sense from the singular Peter Strickland (IN FABRIC, DUKE OF BURGUNDY, BARBARIAN SOUND SYSTEM, KATLIN VARGA).

The Bohman Brothers

“Sound art veterans The Bohman Brothers invest random words with unearned meanings via the eloquent juxtapositions of their elegantly neutral voices. After three decades of experimentation, these alchemists of banality, these banalchemists, turn everyday leaden language into poetic gold.” – Stewart Lee (reviewing the ‘Back On The Streets’ album)
Adam Bohman and Jonathan Bohman have been recording together since their early teens and playing live since 1984. Their repertoire includes a combination of sounds created in the moment and distinct compositions including songs. They use unconventional instruments, household objects, dislocated text from found, literary and commercial sources and collaged layers of recordings.

DJ Bunnyhausen

Catherine will be spinning records for the first time at a My Eyes! My Eyes! show since since our ‘For Death and for Deptford’ break-up show in 2003. Among the many Strickland connections: (as Xyliltol) Catherine scored the intro music for the Peter Strickland short ‘Blank Narcissus'(2022); appeared as Miss Brimblecombes in ‘In Fabric'(2018); and recorded the fantastic ‘Kunst Ist Tot’ on the Peripheral Conserve label.

My Eyes! My Eyes!

Born in South East London in the mid 90s, My Eyes! My Eyes! created nights of ad-hoc screenings in pubs, warehouses and river boats. While mostly playing to a local following in resolutely pre-gentrified Woolwich, Greenwich, Deptford & New Cross, we have also ventured into central London gallery spaces (Milch, ICA), a forest in the Lakes and further afield, with a fantastically feral show in Liverpool.

After several years hiatus we returned for a burst of activity, hosting a series of packed out and carnivalesque events to mourn the loss of several key venues. My Eyes! My Eyes! handed away its equipment to artists and film makers and shut up shop in 2003. Cult UK Director Ben Wheatley has been screening with us since he left college. With his encouragement we re-emerged in late 2018 with a preview screening of his feature Happy New Year, Colin Burstead. We continued with packed screenings throughout 2019 showcasing the weird and wonderful work of Jim Hosking, Peter Strickland and Robert Morgan. Several further Director showcases were abruptly curtailed by the Pandemic.

My Eyes! My Eyes! fans Matt Lloyd, Lisa-Lisa, Nick Barrett and Roz Gomersall encouraged founder Clive Shaw to restart screenings with their support, enthusiasm and insane film knowledge. A full return was confirmed at the end of 2022. 2023 is another lease of life for My Eyes! My Eyes! with new members, new venues and a mission to create the most exciting screenings your eyeballs can handle… Come and see!
