A collaboration between IKLECTIK, Christian Duka & Lucie Stepankova
Sunday 15 August 2021 | 3pm to 10pm
Tickets: General Admission £10 BUY TICKETS
During the day, 4 musical artists come together to create a sun-drenched sonic journey traversing atmospheric, down-tempo and experimental electronic music. The sonic garden will be amplified by an immersive audiophile sound system powered by AMOENUS.
Lucie Stepankova (aka Avsluta) is a DJ, producer and performer, free-improviser and lecturer of improvisation and performative practices at the London College of Communication.
Inquiry about our being in, experiencing and interacting with the world through the lens of deep ecology and new materialist theories is at the core of her practice.
Lucie works with objects and natural materials, field recordings, electronics and digital processing to embody speculative narratives challenging our understanding of reality and in so doing seeks to unlock its potential for transformation. The general aim of her practice is to encourage audiences to engage in listening as an active-creative practice, reconnect with and embody emotions, and discover new approaches towards solidarity as understood within the framework of deep ecology.
Christian is a sound artist, performer, lecturer and curator working primarily in immersive settings. His musical output spans a plethora of different genres within the experimental, electronic and dance music domain both in solo and collaborative projects (MARMO, Vādin). He is the founder of AMOENUS, an art organisation that promotes the development of immersive sound in the arts.
By its nature, an outlier stands apart. Yet, while mapping out a sonic terrain that is distinctly his own, this Irish native has found a home on revered labels including Naïf, Soul Music People and Appian Sounds. A resident DJ at the Astral Industries nights in London, he moves effortlessly between gnostic techno trips and ambient sets that tunnel deep into the unconscious. Across his sets and productions, he draws on a sound palette that includes everything from coarse-hewn drone and immersive field recordings to oblique percussive interventions and coruscating synths.
Maybe Laura is a Lithuanian-born London-based DJ and sound healer deeply intertwined in the local electronic music scene both as an artist and curator, and well-loved for her genuine and warm energy behind the decks. She carefully selects music and weaves together worlds that allow for experimental music, 4th world ambient and deep electronica to effortlessly coexist.
