An evening of immersive sound to launch recur’s debut LP – a strange loop. An ensemble featuring Ligeti Quartet, tuned percussion and electronics will stage a performance of the record in surround sound. The night will also feature live sets from Malvern Brume and a special guest, plus a selection of DJs including film director Peter Strickland.

recur

recur is a new musical project led by composer & sound designer Tim Harrison. Drawing on minimalism, psychedelia and film sound, its debut LP – a strange loop – features arrangements by Richard Jones, performances by Ligeti Quartet & Jack Wyllie and mix by Richard Formby.

Peter Strickland

Peter Strickland is a film director and sonic caterer. His practice foregrounds experimental sound-making, from the giallo craft of Berberian Sound Studio to recent work Flux Gourmet, inspired and soundtracked by his project The Sonic Catering Band.

Malvern Brume

Malvern Brume is Rory Salter, a musician and sound artist living in London, Born in Banbury. Malvern Brume has released albums with Alter, TakuRoku, Infant Tree and Kashual Plastik. The music is formed through experimentations with electronic instruments, field recordings, amplified objects and voice; motivated by a relationship to changing and chaotic environments, objects and scores made from walking.
