Composition 2017.05 (Undecided Metaphor) has a rarified texture with minimal content – and consists of four repeating sinewave-based elements that slowly proceed through the composition with glacial movement. There is no metaphor – allegory – associations – or personal references to anything other than to the composition itself – and that the composition stands within its own time and space. The reduced aesthetic and non-referential quality of the music is mirrored in the film (https://youtu.be/d8p85Z9pJW0) – with the filmic content consisting of two photographs of the Russian artist Marinesca walking in the Tate Modern – London. These black and white ghost images slowly move across the visual field – reflecting the glacial movement of the music. Time is brought to a partial stand-still – creating new perceptions and experiences.
