LGBTQIA+ Earthquake Solidarity
LGBTQIA+s and sex workers in the earthquake area do not receive the humanitarian aid as equally and fairly as others, cannot feel safe in public areas, and are deprived of many basic needs.

The Ahbap Association was established to provide all kinds of help, in the form of in-kind and cash assistance, to those in need, to strengthen the awareness of solidarity across all segments of society, help create a good society made up of good people, build modern and sustainable networks of mutual assistance and solidarity to aid new cooperation models and projects, and protect local culture while contributing to its development, with today’s technological opportunities, moving it into the future.

Atay Ilgun

BUKET YENIDOGAN is a Turkish experimental sound artist who leads rituals of transformation from human to posthuman, from flesh to water. Her performances are all improvised using self-constructed tactile and watery instruments and collaborations with other DJs. In her artistic research practise she builds a future mythology called “The ones who became the ocean” based on hydro-feminism, maternal loss, and ecological speculation, expanding various media from moving image to interactive installations.

Zeynep Ağcabay

Born and raised in Istanbul, Zeynep Ağcabay’s music explores the juxtaposition of Eastern and Western influences on their identity. Growing up with traditional Turkish music playing at home, Zeynep went on to discover new roots in London. Their experimental approach aims to discover a unique blend of these two sonic worlds by composing unusual structures of abstract percussions, ambiguous vocals, ambient soundscapes mixed in with instruments inspired by Turkish ney, kanun, davul and darbuka. Their EP release is coming out on Archaic Vaults under title ‘Ancestral Ground’ later this year.

Naz Balkaya & Giulio Dal Lago

Naz Balkaya is a Turkish artist-curator based in London. Both of her artistic and curatorial projects promote collaboration, solidarity, and safe networking, representing the millennial conditions and supporting the emerging artists. She generally works with multi-media such as performance, writing, sound, sculpture, and painting. Giulio Dal Lago is a sound artist based in London, who works beyond the limit of the sonic. They focus on site-specific projects that activate everyday spaces, situations, and actions through interventions on their sonic possibilities.

Sinemis is the solo project of Circassian-Turkish producer Sine Buyuka, who gently combines the ancestral Sufi music of her homeland with sophisticated techno-inflected ambient. Her past and future music include releases on Sub Rosa, !K7, Leiter and her own label Injazero. She is a graduate student in electronic music at Guildhall School of Music and Drama and hosts a monthly radio show on Resonance Extra. Her mixes have been featured on Worldwide FM, Resonance FM, Open Lab, Soho Radio and NTS…She has performed at venues like Somerset House, Iklectik Art Lab and St Matthias Church.

Lara Baksu

Lara Baksu is a London based artist and poet working with text, poetry, moving image, sound, performance and installation.
