Combining the musicians additional experience of working with space coming from improvised dance, the four experienced instrumentalists (Ricardo Tejero – saxes, Roland Ramanan – trumpet, Paloma Carrasco López – cello, David Leahy – double bass) will play a set of improvised engagements from all corners of this fantastic venue.
Drawing on the sounds around them just as much as the sounds between them, the four will allow their listening to lead them to different parts of the room. Incorporating periods of individual and duet playing through to the full quartet, the evening is aimed at re-examining how we engage with improvised music in performance.
