Vicens Vacca is a reference in sound art. A Catalan multi-media artist with a career spanning more than 35 years experimenting with the incidence of sound as an artistic medium, as well as with other disciplines, working on the margins of the conceptual. Descending from a family of jazz musicians, he opts for contemporary art, breaking with tradition. From his earliest works, sound is never an additional complement, but a corporeal element with plastic qualities, which materialises in the space of action as a sculptural object. He situates his work between dexterity and disaster. For his first solo exhibition in the UK, Vacca will show a selection of works from different periods, as well as the premiere of a work never shown before.
