Maxime Denuc will present Nachthorn. This takes its name from one of the 78 stops that make up the main organ in St. Antonius Church. This instrument, equipped with a system developed by the German company Sinua, offers the possibility of controlling all of its keyboards and timbres via a computer. The organ thus becomes a powerful synthesizer. This set-up allowed me to fulfil an old dream of mine : to create an entirely acoustic dance music piece with the organ as sole actor. Oscillating between dub techno, harmonic locked grooves or afterhours pop, Nachthorn proposes a hypnotic music piece whose lines sketch the outline of an imaginary warehouse. Opening the night, Glyn Maier will present a live performance with field recordings processed and arranged with modern software and tape-based hardware.

Maxime Denuc

Maxime Denuc is an electronic music composer based in Brussels. For some years now, his solo work has focused on church organs. In 2020, he released Solarium on the Belgian label Vlek, an organ-centric venture that relies on the emotional potency of sunrise to spawn an experience that is both musical and social. Two years later, he presents Nachthorn, a new LP for MIDI church organ. The record was critically acclaimed, notably by Boomkat which selected it in the ten record of the year 2022. It has also been chosen as the soundtrack for the Chanel Haute Couture fashion show in January 2023.

Glyn Maier

Glyn Maier is a sound artist and field recordist living in Pisgah Forest, North Carolina. With a formal education in physics and music composition, Maier’s preoccupations with natural objects, landscapes, and their social histories guide his recordings. Maier’s abstract synthesis work is deeply informed by sound design and modern composition techniques, but his larger focus is on the agency of environment and associated socio-political reciprocities. Maier also helms the imprint enmossed, which he founded in 2017.
