MimiCof (Midori Hirano)

Midori Hirano is a Berlin-based musician, composer and producer. She learnt the piano as a child, and this led to her studying classical piano at university. Her productions are based on the use of acoustic instruments such as the piano, strings or guitars, but yet experimental and an eclectic mixture of modern digital sounds with subtle electronic processing and field recordings. Under the moniker MimiCof she explores the realm of experimental music and detailed rhythmic patterns, combined with an idea of drawing melodic shapes and harmonies. She performed at events such as CTM, Heroines of Sound Festival, Boiler Room Berlin and L.E.V.Festival…

Sinemis

Sinemis is the new ambient and electronica project from Istanbul-born, London-based producer Sine Buyuka. Self-described as ‘sufi-electronica’, she spreads the sounds of the time-honoured Turkish ney flute subtly on top of airily layered textures and synths. The result is mystical music that gently flits between the East and West, very much like her hometown. Sine Buyuka worked as a culture and arts journalist and hosted a radio show in her hometown Istanbul before moving to London in 2012. She runs the experimental / electronic label Injazero Records, is a graduate student in electronic music at Guildhall and hosts a monthly radio show on London-based sound art station Resonance Extra.
Sinemis will be joined onstage by Jan Hendrickse, who creates works for live performances as well as installations and contemporary dance scores. He works with artists from a wide range of backgrounds as well as featuring regularly as a soloist on traditional woodwind instruments for film scores. He teaches at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
