NX Records is a record label, radio station and creative space based in Goldsmiths University. Founded by the college music department, together with Matthew Herbert’s Accidental Records, NX offers students and local children and young people the chance to experience working and creating within a real music industry setting. This July 27 we are celebrating our 10th year with a summer party at Waterloo’s wonderful venue, Iklectik. The party will feature live performances from recent Goldsmiths graduate Emmélin, and the brilliant duo Church Andrews & Matt Davies, together with a selection of DJs.

Combining spoken word, avant-pop arrangements and haunting jazz vocals, Danish artist Emmélin and her band will cast a bitter-sweet spell over Iklectik on the evening.

Scant live performances achieve the gripping, dizzying heights reached by mutant drum and synth duo Church Andrews & Matt Davies, these days. In the words of Boomkat, ‘they craftily slink in the gaps between jazz, dub techno and hip hop with a compelling grasp of free-formed funk discipline and minimalism that crisply future proofs their sound.’ Not to be missed!
