Tommy Darker – Making streaming work – 8th July

Streaming has, for a number of different reasons, been hitting the headlines over the past few months, and now with the launch of Apple Music we’re on our way to mainstream adoption of streaming.

But while it is good news that consumers are beginning to pay for music (be that through paid or freemium models), artists and labels now have to work in a different way to ensure their slice of the 9.99 price point.

Each platform comes with it’s own tools, opportunities, techniques, audiences, strategies and pitfalls, so it’s vital that artists and labels consider all of these before diving into any streaming focussed marketing campaign.

In Darker Music Talks July, James Farrelly of Believe Digital will explain how we can make streaming work FOR us, not against us.

The speaker:

James Farrelly – Trade Marketing Manager UK & ANZ – Believe Digital

James is the Trade Marketing Manager for Believe Digital, a leading digital distributor of independent labels and artists with local offices in over 30 countries. James is responsible for working with digital services to ensure Believe’s labels receive maximum promotional exposure. More recently, this has also led to helping labels and artists craft strategies for streaming platforms for both new releases, and back catalogue.

James has helped develop profiles and strategies for artists such as James Vincent McMorrow, Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada, Asian Dub Foundation, Public Service Broadcasting, Black Butter, Future Classic, Xtra Mile, Hospital Records and more. Not one to be tied to the desk, James is also just as happy as a road dog in a van playing punk shows.
