Edward Griffiths is delighted to return to IKLECTIK for another edition in the XOLO series, this time bringing 5 sonic and visual artists whose works explore many nuances between genres and sonic regions. Each artist has the ability to evoke or invoke something like a presence, a moment as an entity.

This new project by the insanely talented Atay Ilgun is a complete mystery, yet knowing this artist to be a ferocious explorer of sonics and a truly visceral artist to experience live I am all ears for anything they create!
In shadows deep and corners dark,
A secret realm, the web’s stark mark,
There lies a tale of music’s might,
The STROBE LIGHT NETWORK’s haunted night.
Oh, mourn the souls who ventured near,
To witness sounds both sweet and drear,
The ecolagbohrsac council’s reign,
Their chosen tracks, a siren’s strain.
The Shadowcasters’ fateful tune,
Echoes ‘neath a ghostly moon,
Endless lights flicker and sway,
Entrapping those who dare to stay.
With every note, the darkness grows,
An eerie chill the audience knows,
As blood-soaked tears begin to fall,
The STROBE LIGHT NETWORK’s siren call.
Their lament weaves through cyberspace,
A haunted realm, devoid of grace,
Yet still, the mournful gather ’round,
To seek the truth that’s never found.
For in the grip of their embrace,
The STROBE LIGHT NETWORK leaves a trace,
A mark upon the hearts that weep,
Within the shadows, secrets keep.

Trinidadian/Scottish artist. Soca, field recordings and dance-floor Tamboo-Bamboo clippings from Sangre Grande meets Left-Field Techno. Paired visuals will be from a 8mm short film with recordings of T&T with family, as well as navigating Scotland’s North-East Coast with friends and life in East London manipulated together.

I met Anastasia at various events and we eventually met at my studio and jammed. We have become friends and I am delighted to share her music with you all. Her skills and ability to raise energies and entities from her voice, her movements and the sounds she conjures from the simplest form of tools is astonishing and I cannot wait to experience her magic again with you all.

Pentu
Pentu, aka Chris Jordan is one of the many aspects of this quiet yet truly plural artist. Having had the honour of featuring them several times in the past I can promise that wherever they take it, it will be beautiful and potent. Their work ranges from guitar experimentation to elaborate pop symphonies and subtle, elegant sonic ballets. I have a deep admiration for Chris’s work and it is a pleasure to share it with others once again.
Pentu is a London based experimental ambient producer and guitarist, with a focus on interruptive, disconnected soundscapes inspired by the absurd emotional impact of technology on everyday life. Pentu has had recent releases through Surf and daddypower records, contributed to new compilations by Roca and Lambs-ear Records, and has also produced commissions in collaboration with London Fashion Week and various other artists and designers.

Dina Silanteva
Dina I first met when she created a series of graphic visuals and bold word play for several events that were held at the Climate Emergency Centre amidst the various breaks in lockdown. Her visual language is akin to reading experimental music notations, glyphs, bar codes and graphs, watching drive partitions re organise, seeing information as noise on an old tape drive. Yet these are so playful they are never cold. These are so infinitely inventive, bold full of visual humour and direct to your cortex. I have been fortunate to collaborate with Dina on several occasions so invited here to this event to explore and experiment at will. Some of the artists have their own visuals yet I feel hers can live on their own wall and provide a thread throughout.
Formant Value
Born and raised in Italy, Lorenzo began experimenting with music production at a young age and quickly developed a unique style that blends various genres and influences.
His music is characterized by complex rhythms, deep basslines, and intricate melodies that create a captivating and immersive listening experience.
He is known for his attention to detail and his ability to create rich, textured soundscapes that transport listeners to other worlds.
